Ian, two questions ... are husky's good at getting home if they know an area ? Or are they like labies, that when freedom strikes and no one's home top watch them they will just go forever ?

Second what Vet did you use for Emily ?

ok, technically 3 questions ...

I've got 2 huskies, I live on a farm with lots and lots of running space which (in my oppinion) is a necessity when opting for huskies. They have an insane amount of energy and stamina and tend to get themselves into mischief quite often. They are also extremely lovable, faithful and playful. Every single day when I approach them, they behave as if we havent seen each other for weeks.

In terms of obediance, I only have them trained to respond to my commands when we are on my property. When we are out the golden rule is to NEVER let them off the leash. They've run away quite a few times and once they only returned home after a hunting spree. They have killed (but did not eat) chickens, rabbits and even a sheep from neighbouring farms.

Very free spirited dogs who's natural insticts tend to get the better of them sometimes.

Meet Rocky

Long storie -short

I saw him on a Rottie rescue page, really liked him but had 3 other Rotties

Then 6 months later i saw him again, listed as CODE RED

My wife said is i wanted him we can get him

He came from Stellenbosch from a rich upper class family was tied up and underfed

Animal rescue took one year to remove him from the owners and eventually it happened with a court order then he spend 6 months in the kennels

People loved him but he was old , 10-12(although i think he might be more like 10 years)

He also hated other dogs, now 3 months later he is a teddy and allready bonding with one of my younger Rotties

Just don't understand how people couldn't look after him and not love him specially rich white foaks

Here's is a link for those of you that like Rottweilers. please like their page and spread the word, they do a great job.

This pic was on the day we got him

We would have gone for a Rottie or 2 had we not met out first two Border Collies who needed an immediate home. Its so sad when its an old dog as you know they stand very little chance of finding a home again.

We took an old BC in when he was in need of a home and after speaking to the owner we opted to rather keep him with us and the other 6 idiots we have so he can live out whats left off his life in tennis ball and swimming pool heaven...!

Sebastian aka 'Old Farty' is in the top left...

Hi gents

I would like to ride the 36one race this coming weekend as a fund raiser for a certain animal Rescue and rehab project

Friends of Rottweiler rescue and re-home is run by 2 great ladies, they try and place Rotties and Rottie mixes to FOREVER homes from owners who emigrate or simply just drop them

I have one of their rescue dogs and i know its not a easy task for them, basically its mostly medical bills and then also shipping(all over SA with airfreight), food and a few other things like crates ect.

I would like to ride this race and then maybe someone can sponser per kilometer or something like that .

My wife would also be riding it one week after the Epic

Im asking for advice, how do i propose this to hub members, fellow internet mates mates on Facebook ect

If anyone can help me or guide me in the right direction please let me know via pm

Thanks
