udxcob Posted October 7, 2011 Posted October 7, 2011 Jeez Kamikaze you know how to put a damper on things, just shave your damn legs to show your commitment to the sport you love....
Guest agteros Posted October 7, 2011 Posted October 7, 2011 seriously??? the shave/dont shave topic...again?!?!? i have made it my pet study to ask cyclists why they shave their legs, and in 20 years i have still to find a common reason why it is done. none of them know why they do it!!! some say it is to prevent ingrown hair when they fall and get roasties - seriously, you fall THAT often??? others say it's for aerodynamics - dude, i know you think you are fast, but get over yourself. dropping by 0.0001 of the drag co-efficient is not going to turn you into lance armstrong. rather train harder. i would say 99% of the douchebags out there shave their legs because they think they look the part if they do so, just like wearing a livestrong bracelet prevents your nutsack from falling off, or a powerbalance armband keeps you upright after 2 bottles of wine, or why all black people seem to like R&B music. Where did you copy & paste that from?

I would love to see you get to day 5 of Epic and they massage those hairy legs of yours.
Wyatt Earp Posted October 7, 2011 Posted October 7, 2011 What do you suggest... Guys without any lycra wearing a lekker Jean pant shorts riding his bike? ;-)Nah , that we should all be baggy wearing good samaritans.
sias Posted October 7, 2011 Posted October 7, 2011 I wax, MTB and road. Kamikaze - I do it for the looks, pure and simple. Had a few comments on my legs so far - one while schlepping up the Swartberg pass during the Cape Pionneer. So there...
Tumbleweed Posted October 7, 2011 Posted October 7, 2011 I have removed kamikaze's post, and edited out the reference to the Holocaust in the quoted posts.

trekpostal Posted October 7, 2011 Posted October 7, 2011 Didn't shave when I started but now I do - nasty crash and a small skin job on the knee as the road ripped the hair and skin off. I have received a few compliments from ladies in the past and the wife likes it - motivates her to shave more regularly
Tumbleweed Posted October 7, 2011 Posted October 7, 2011 I see calling someone a maaifoedie also gets you moderated And I found that the word motherf***er makes it through the sensor on your other thread.
Iain Olivier Posted October 7, 2011 Author Posted October 7, 2011 Okay, I have changed it to a multi poll thing...
Tankman Posted October 7, 2011 Posted October 7, 2011 Okay, I have changed it to a multi poll thing... Bit late now! I only shave for the road, then wait about 4 weeks for it to grow back and give me a lekka bosbefok feeling before heading into the mountains!
Cois Posted October 7, 2011 Posted October 7, 2011 Just delete your vote and vote again... The guys with the girlfriends that does not like the shaving thing, be glad... My ex demanded no hair... Even down under for what ever reason. Was hell. It itches like mad. Waxing is better IMO, but it cost a whole lot more, if you look like a bear in winter wear.

Why vote again, I shave my legs ... no matter what bike I am on the stay shaven. Perhaps your ex made you shave to make it look bigger

Gunston Posted October 7, 2011 Posted October 7, 2011 If I could shave I would - but being close family with wolverine, I wouldnt know where to stop.
Eldron Posted October 7, 2011 Posted October 7, 2011 Real men wax! I can't stand the velcro semi shaven state and am too lazy to shave every day. Plus I have a hot beautician lady person that seems to enjoy inflicting pain - I guess that qualifies as a win-win situation.
