That last over was really weird.  Stokes did not for one second think of maybe doing a slow bouncer or a wide yorker.

If I was an English supporter I would be very upset.

Happy for the Windies.

He tried for the conventional Yorker. problem is he tried 4 times and didn't get one right!!!!

He looked gutted, even Gayle looked like he was telling Sammy it's over after Jordan's over.

A lesson SA can learn is looking at the Windies and how they very rarely have bowlers bowling more than 1 over spells, Bravo excluded. He is just a machine!!!! Best bowler of the tournament for me, the way he disguises that slower ball is amazing.

Very few teams allowed long spells, batters pick up the pace and length and generally the 2nd or 3rd overs are expensive!!

I think part of our problem is that we have been borrowing ideas from others, opposed to coming up with our own fresh ideas. If Phangiso played either of the games against Windies / England, we would have gone through to the semis. Our problem was not so much rotation of bowlers, but team selection.

not the biggest T20 fan but watched it anyway, very entertaining game of cricket (thats what its about right).

Well done to the Windies!

Dont mistake this as a great cricket team, T20 vs Test cricket are miles apart (same as Fiji in rugby 7s vs 15s).

You can't just make sweeping statements like that. We probably would have won both those games if we chased, but you just don't know. It's like blaming the WC loss to nz in the semis down to philander/abbot - just silliness really.

Also as an FYI, he did actually play the WIndies game, which we lost.

So funny how everyone goes for Stokes.....he was always the 5th (or even 6th bowler in their lineup). Root bowls just one magic over, Ali doesn't even get a bowl at all. So in the end Morgan bowled his finishers out early and left stokes to close out it with lots in the bag.

Yet Stokes gets the blame...remember Captain Morgan scored 27*, 12, 0, 22, 0, 5 so is clearly going to be getting some of the heat.

Weren't both of Morgan's ducks first ballers too?

Yeah,

Stokes was searching for that Yorker (if you miss, I Hit!) and he failed 4/4

Beautiful game

Fascinating drama

Magical result (out of nothing)

That really was not Stokes's fault though.  He is not a death bowler, and Morgan knows that. It was Morgan's fault for not bowling Stokes out in the middle overs.  He should have left the last 6 overs to the death bowling specialists like Willie and Jordan.
