It seems MOST of the VA's of last year will be heading out in open seeded.

Seems most of the spots in the front pack will be taken up by the Elites and U/23. Very few "Racing Vets" in the bunch?

 

Personally I am disappointed not to have made the cut. Cest' la Vie??

Perhaps the new seedings are an attempt to motivate more people to enter the seeding events and ensure more money is generated from the higher priced entries to those events that we all train harder so the standard of competition and fitness is raised?

What ever the reason, I think most just wish that they'd get it "right".!

Given the comments, it seems fair to say the the seeding process is flawed and inconsistent.

haha it will be a big bunch then. I know I can hang with the VA's on the climbs so I won't get lonely after Boyes Drive this year.

It should be great until Chapmans peak where all hell breaks loose, weather permitting it's either fun or completly savage. Having done two years in $ now. You cannot rest for a minute. Drift to the back for a casual fart at the wrong time and you're heading for Greenpoint alone.

Group Y (international not qualifying for better seeding) from X last year after going 35min quicker than 2010. The guys who finished just before and after me last year is seeded U and W respectively. So even if they beef me up I’ll only start 10 minutes earlier at the most. No benefit of a good start group (international you get all sorts). Will have to give it stick for that 3:30

I'm surprised you didnt make the cut... you came 25th in VA last year. One would assume that would be enough to get you back into VA this year...
