Condolences to the family.

We came back to Magaliessig this morning (early) and decided to go via William Nichol rather than Main... had we taken the latter would have gone through at roughly 6...

I drove past there this morning. There was a covered body lying in the left lane with ambulances and a fire engine blocking off the lane. A white Jetta was standing a bit further on with the front left of the cabin pretty badly damaged. Windscreen crashed. I did not see a bicycle.

RIP and condolences to those left behind.

RIP....... has someone like the CSA taken the carnage up with the Minister of Transport ! In a number of European cities the motorist is automatically guilty and will get their licence taken away for a period...it is up to the driver to prove otherwise.

Vehicles give way to cyclists, as a result ,in a huge way.

There was an insert on the news on Jackaranda yesterday that statistics wise cyclists and Taxi commuters have an equal chance of being killed on South African roads .

My thoughts go out to the family concerned - someone did not have someone special to them return from an early morning ride. RIP.

Road cycling in JHB is a big no no in my mind. Too many cars and too many aggressive a..holes behind the wheels.

Unless you stick to "safer" areas such as the cradle or ride in big groups where cars are forced to slow down and drive carefully. Riding in groups of 2 or 3 is asking for trouble.

This is so damn sad. The poor family that has been left behind.

RIP.

I agree with an earlier post,if you ride in the am on the road, you must be back by 06h00.

I was late this morning and only returned home at 06h30,there is a huge difference in the volume of traffic between 06h00 and 06h30.

Condolences to the family.
