Ta! Awesome ride. Fantastic route, good roads and marhalling. Bike marshals were brilliant (as usual) and support from Germiston metro good to see. Great weather with a mild wind. Good racing (apart from Graeme Cronje giving us a snot klap in the tandems). A lekker morning in the saddle...

We BL caught the VC bunch just before the steps which was going to be a bad idea. There was a crash under the bridge heading towards the steps, both bunches were never going to fit through there at the same time.

I found the public to be awesome, most stopped while we went past.

Personally I had a good race, the legs went with 10km to go but luckily they came back.

Great race and marshalls. The public and waterpoints was very supportive. My legs also went at 10km to go and unfortunately started the journey home. EL bunch caught DL group just before Heidelberg.

Enjoyed it but some observation. Turning off Heidelberg rd onto Vereeniging road the 2 Metro cops were standing by their car chatting leaving the marshals to regulate traffic. Why cant riders that take water sachets drop them close to the WP not 2/3 km further. The main VP bunch caught a big bunch of DL riders on the steps and were passing on the right. The front guys in DL accelerate making it difficult for the VP to ride ahead.and group ended up straggling the whole road. After the race i went to look for one of my mates who started in LL, at 12.45 the marshals and metro had left the intersection of Barry Marais and van Wyk Louw with still many riders on the road.

Will definitely make sure the correct person is informed.

Thanks for the positive comments guys. Appreciate it. Will pass them along.

Always well run as has been all the previous years i'v'e done it. Having the medium riders avoid the R23 worked out well

+1, a great race, marshalling was very good, we (AL) occationally had rolling road closure.

Nice.

The Elite group had pretty much permanent rolling road closure. Arran reckoned it was like racing in Europe.

Although it would be nice to do it for all the groups, logistically that's impossible, but this year we definitely had the best bike marshals (well done again to Jasper and his crew - I chatted to a few riders from the elite group, and they all remarked on how good the bike marshalling was), and the metro and ground marshal support was also better than in previous years.

Had a good race from EL. One moron in the bunch had the courage to go over the white line and wave to oncoming traffic to make way for him. This happened a few time. He did not have a number and clothes looked like a smartie box. Alan van Heerden shirt and Cycleboys bib.

Nearly came off at 45km/h when a rider with a VP number passed on the left of me between myself and another rider. He clipped my handle bars but fortunately I managed to keep my balance. All I got was 'sorry' Sorry se gat , moron

Thanks for a well organised race

Had a great ride, unfortuantly my wife left her legs at home. Request - can we cut the first 2 Km out of this Race? For the old diesel to warm up – I need time please

The main bunch of tandems have been very inconsiderate and just left us…

- 5 lonely tandems to do the whole route all on our own.

I like the medal.

Good race

Great Marshalling
