I'm at a loss for words...

Are we moving backwards or the Argies forward?

A couple of years ago we argued about the winning margin when we played the Argies.

Now we are so happy to get a win against die bliksems

Time to bullet the Beast and Strauss - I prefer a fresher and more hungry Kitshof and Marx.

Goosen to move to 12 next to Jantjies - two first fives like the Kiwi's say :w00t:

Salta is gonna be a tough one!

This might be an option as he (Goosen) was not a success at Fullback and Dialende (Spelling) is really useless. Someone must have told him to sometimes pass the ball and now he is a specialist in hospital passes.

Four matches and everyone expects them to be the finished article. Ai tog sometimes we expect way too much of our teams.

Faf - excellent player. Can't fault his enthusiasm.

Team spirit does seem good. Hard to win though games your struggling to close out if that isn't in place. AC a lot like Pdivvy in his ability to create a positive atmosphere.

Captaincy - the best man for the job is not having the armband. It should be Whiteley. DV can definitely still make a contribution as a flanker and would offer WW invaluable support in the captaincy imho. Just a pity that AC doesn't quite see it that way.

Agree with you regarding the captaincy.

But why is SA always re-building? Why can't we expect the best players in SA to just play some decent rugby from the start? The AB's have lost McCaw, Nonu, Smith etc but they've never changed gears and just keep on bulldozing every team in their path.

And lets be honest here, this is the same Jaguars team that played super rugby. So they wore different jerseys on Saturday, does that suddenly make them better players? Are they not giving 100% in super rugby?

The experience debate doesn't sit well with me. No use having played 100 tests but you're slow, unfit and out of form. I'd rather have a young, hungry and in form player! AKA Low - Kriel, Habana - Skosan, Beast - Koch/Kitsoff, Strauss - Marx

Goosen won't be moved to 12, although I agree it wouldn't be a bad experiment. But if AC realises 12 is a problem, why not pick the in form Rohan jv Rensburg?

I have a feeling he's going to drop Mapoe and play his beloved WP pair of Duh Duh and OFFSIDE OFFSIDE, HOLDING HOLDING!!! De Jong

Jantjies, eish I don't know what's going on with him. Maybe AC needs to get Ackers there to manage him. Because at the moment it would seem like AC is breaking Jantjies (just like he did when Jantjies was on loan to WP a few years back). I hate saying this, but we miss Lambie and Pollard

When we play well the players are all brilliant (provided they play for our chosen Super Rugby franchises)... when we cock up, the coach is a total paluka...

To a degree, yes. A coach has to understand each player's weaknesses and strengths, and either play according to that or pick players according to the gameplan you intend playing. Ackermann is playing the running style at the Lions because he's said that's the type of players he has. AC I think is stuck between different plans, because he picked a running/attacking flyhalf but expecting him to play more conservative and to a specific structure

But you are right, we just love having a go at the bok coach, don't we

Eddie Jones took Japan to great heights, doubt if many other coaches could do the same.  He also led England to their first whitewash of Australia.

Not so much rebuilding as readjusting to a new coach, his game plan and management style.

Aside from the Stormers guys none would've worked with AC before and absolutely nobody would've worked with Roux and Stick. Those guys are still having to gain the players trust. That said these guys are pro's and they need to get with AC's game plan and start executing correctly. I think that AC will be hammering that point this week. Maybe playing in Salta is exactly what the Boks need. Remember last year the Boks got back into playing better once in Argentina. Hoping for the same.

Concerning New Zealand: for one they all play the same game plan essentially. Secondly they are incredibly good at succession planning and those players are aware of it and grow in it while still 'serving time'. No frills, no fuss, let's just get on with it attitude. No one is bigger than the game there, although sometimes even they forget that.

I think this stat tells a different story. Experience in Test match rugby IS NOT the same as Super Rugby or Currie Cup. I didn't realise it was this inexperienced, if Habana and Steyn are omitted.

Edit: 15 players with less than 10 caps, another 6 below 30.5bfb3095b0a5bf2aaa7a7a6758c5f2b2.jpg

How old is Habana? Heading for Richie McCaw record at this rate.

fitty free years old.

McCaw played 148, I think.

What makes McCaw's record even more noteworthy is he's a loosie always up front in the thick of things, putting his body on the line. Completely different to a wing putting in 1 or 2 tackles a game and just going for intercept tries.

True true

And he was CAPTAIN, one helluva responsibility

I must still get hold of his book

AC must realize that his problem is no 12 in the backline , that impacts on Jantjies directly as his attacking ability is hampered due to 12 lying too flat. that also create a defense problem.

Put the right inside centre next to Jantjies and he will again perform as we expect from him. Agree it could be Goosen but my 1st choice would be van Rensburg

The current no 12 also neutralise Mapoe totally. So hopefully AC knows something more about rugby than to replace Mapoe and keep Dialende
