Any races this race can be compared to similarity wise?

IE something similar to Vori-Berg or Babba's ect...

Thanks,

Dub

Not sure....i'm doing the voori berg next weekend.

I think the voori berg have a few more climbs though.

It was a really good race - given the location I certainly didn't expect the singletrack to be as good as it was - fast and flowing. It was also great to find those doing the 30km race being aware of the 60km riders coming up fast behind them and either getting off the track or keeping their lines - thanks guys!

Thanks aagin to the rider who lent me some lube on the last lap while he was bombing his tyre.

Feedback from all my mates and one of the podium finishers was just as positive - I'll certainly be back there.

Some concerns though...

1. on the 30km "Batch" start - so called previous riders with a seeding - nonsense, some of my friends were in the 1st batch, but it was their first race as well.

2. The chap calling out the numbers at the end - how accurate and reliable is the timing?

3. The people who think it's ok to pass others waiting in the bottleneck - and when told to get back in line just continue.

If you are not a top 10 rider, get in line and wait your turn like everyone else.

4. The bike wash - R40, and i had to send the bike back because it was still dirty.

5. Race sold as 30km and 60km, then results show 25 and 50km, but everyone measured between 27.5 and 28km.

Apart from this, lovely single-track, loved the route.

My Polar recorded a 1:27 on the 30km Route (actually 28km), so I'm happy.

I did the 60km which I enjoyed. My kids did the 10km ride which was also shortened by the four odd km and at R70 entrance fee for the 10km it turns out to be a bit of a rip-off. Over R11 per km. :cursing:

does anyone know where the results will be posted, I think I heard something at the start about the USN website, but not quite sure were to look.

and i found the race quite enjoyable, just found it very bumpy on my hardtail, so was a bit tender afterwards, but the single track and stuff was good in my opinion, so well done to the organizers for that.

Second time I've done this one (60 km), enjoyed it once again but knew from last year that there would be initial bottlenecks, I managed just over 6.5 km in the first 30 minutes because of them, but thereafter it opened up and it's a nice course. Murphy was ever present though, on the first loop one of my jockey wheels disappeared (thankfully I always carry a spare) and when I over tightened the jockey wheel bolt, 10 Km's further on it jammed and my chain snapped, took 20 minutes to get the (so-called) quick link to work :-) will need to laugh the time off on this one for sure ! Was thinking I could have got a medal for bike mechanics !
