LOL... I get up slowly. Especially on my DH bike. But if I go up on the ST, I pass other, fitter guys. 'Cos I know how to handle roots and rotse. Just lift 'n pump. Not unlike how you... erm... yeah.

BTW - I'm a big guy. My "fighting wieght" is 90kg. I then wear a 28/30 jean pant and an l / xl shirt. Yes, I am a big booi. There's a reason for The Crow (and Pain or Shine, Capicorn, DJR et al) calling me "The Rock Whisperer". I generally manhandle (Chuckyhandle? Chucky is my nick in business circles, for reasons I shall not mention...now) moerse big rocks.

How tall are you? I called you dikkes sorry for that lol.

I'm 1.86 - 93kg (also lean-find it hard to lose any more weight myself)

1.83.

And no worries re dikkes. I know I am... Just so damn hard to lose it all with the time & appetite that I have! But, plans are afoot. Actual weight right about now is approx 102kg. I was 105 after my honeymoon last year. So yes, it is coming off, slowly. I rate I'll lose more when my littlie arrives though, if only 'cos of time / stress / whatever...

When i was cycling 30km to / from work every day in London I was approx 90/93 kg. Benching 130 & shoulder pressing 100kg. Bicep curl 20kg (dumbell) & 50kg (barbell) I can still leg press 150/180. Chest flies were 15kg each side.

Now I'd be lucky to get half those figures, except I can still curl 18kg. Comfortably.

I'm in the same boat, the reason im not going under the 90kg mark is because i still do small heavy sets instead of more reps that are lighter.

Oh well works for me ,the last time i weighed 75kg was 10 years ago as a laaitie.

Strength AND endurance, dude. Superset your way to freedom.

Lol you're right - i should get some new gym partners the current ones only believe in pushing your max weight.

That's because they are going for ultimate max weight alone. If you want to push the max amount of weight, regularly, and not constantly break PB's on max weight, you need to superset. Plus, it's far better for functional strength than one dimensional strength. Yeah, okay, some okes can curl 25 / 30kg and press 200kg. But can they pull themselves up a rope, or break the traction with 16 ceased wheelnuts (that themselves need approx 50-75kg force) on a car?

My plan (at home) is pullups, pressups and jumping jacks, interspersed with skipping & bridges. Until I get myself a cheap ass TRX home system (made by me, of course - not paying R 2.5k for some webbing and a couple of caribiners!)

EDIT: BTW - I SUCK!!! at skipping.

I was planning on doing only "own body weight excercises" during this winter @ home.

I even considered quiting gyming for a couple of months and Only cycling intensely to see how much more weight i can shed doing cardio only.

I would love to drop 10kg's, but it is not all that easy :cursing: You lighter cyclist don't know how much we heavies suffer on climbs. If I lost 10kg I could dish out some pain as well

Such an open ended question, You could lose ten not train, drink lots of beer, smoke, shoot some heroin and be slower.

Good morning ..... the OP said 'asking guys who's managed to drop this amount of weight AT THE SAME FITNESS LEVEL'

Usually people drop weight at an improved level of fitness

#eksemaarnet ...

#thisisprobablytrue ;)

I have dropped nearly double the OP's questioned weight since the end of Jan but I can't be sure/say if my fitness has improved and by how much ...

I don't really know by how much I may be 'faster' as I have not ridden an event that I can compare to but I can say as others have mentioned that I now enjoy climbing and I never thought I'd say that! It may also be my imagination but it feels like my 'technical riding' has improved albeit still 'crap' compared to most ....

I will however be riding a TT tomorrow (road) which I have ridden every June for the past 8 years or so and that will be interesting but ............ 'slightly' different equipment so again that together with a possible improvement of fitness may mean it is not a real indicator

Anyway all I can say is I enjoy my riding more (not that I didn't when I was BIGBEN) and my health is way better
