Eddy Gordo Posted October 10, 2017 Share Looks a little higher by a small bit. However I am not sure if I wanna go the removable chinbar route.Leatt DBX 3Certified and tested to EN1078; CPSC 1203Lightweight and premium protectionWeight: from 750g (1.65 lbs) Without Chin Bar: from 375g (0.83 lbs)Bell Super 3 WEIGHT: 784.1 Grams CERTIFICATION: CE EN1078CPSC BicycleBell Super DH WEIGHT: 850 Grams CERTIFICATION: ASTM F1952-00ASTM F2032-06CE EN1078CPSC BicycleUvex Jekyll HDEWeight: X-small/medium630 grams, medium/X-large 680 grams CERTIFICATION: EN 1078, TÜV GS, CE I like the leatt and the Super DH. They are a few grams lighter than my full face(1kg/1000grams). The Uvex is the lightest tho.I am happy with a half lid and there is a nice selection between O'neal, Fly racing, Bell and IXS that has my attention. Will see around december after bonus time and decide.

Captain Fastbastard Mayhem Posted October 10, 2017 Share How much Myles?3800... Cheaper than a set of teeth (as you well know) and one that I'll be happy to cart along with me instead of deciding if I wanna use the halfshell or fullface on a given day. As for the Uvex, yeah it's also cool, but this is here, now, and it's the same price as the Giro / Super 3. Personally, I'd rather have one lid to rule them all. Hairy Posted October 11, 2017 Share IMO no, unless it offers the same protection qualities as a mid-priced half shell. I honestly don't see the value of a folding helmet, when normal helmets aren't exactly cumbersome to begin with. Not that it won't sell - I'm sure it will sell some units, just not that many. As a commuter I can certainly see the benefit of a folding helmet .... IF it provides the same level of protection that is. BenReaper

"should have been more clear, tbh. If it doesn't offer the same protection, I don't see the reason to pay more JUST because it's a folding lid. In the fight between protection characteristics (shock absorption etc) and stowability, protection wins. Which is why I went for the convertible lid...
