About 50cm, or "a foot and a half" as recommended.

Perfect. Toe them in slightly towards your listening position if not already. Will really open up the sound stage.

Toeing them in will narrow the soundstage as well as the sweetspot.

Why didn't you mount the tv on the wall?

Because:

  • Mounting on a wall brings finicky cable management unless you have a separate extruded bulkhead-style drywall.
  • I have a crapload of other cables and power (alarm box, router, etc) which I accommodate behind that cabinet.
  • I needed space for my Blu-ray collection, a few bottles of wine and some décor stuff.

Most importantly, I got the cabinet with the house, and it was the perfect size for the last point above!

I said "open up" not "widen". There is a difference.

I know what you said, and toeing them in won't do what you said either, besides the other possible negatives I mentioned.

What frame are these going on?

Surly Karate Monkey

They look similar to trials rims.

Peach and I were discussing yesterday (while on our trials ride) what a 29" trials bike would be like...

we shuddered at the thought
