With regards to the idiot who threw the tacks; I like Wiggo's comments about what he think must be done to him when caught. So looks like he does have some of that dry British humour in him.

What makes you write that, Cav?

Just because of all the articles i read over the last couple of days and the quotes he made.

Stating he know he is a better climber than wiggins and would like to be the first brit(nogal) to win the tdf.

He is nice guy and an exceptional rider and tbh this year will be the best chance he will have to win the tour in a couple of years - due to the fact that Contador and Andy will not be so relaxed on the climbs in 2013.

Wiggins being given the tour on a silver platter this year. Next year the above mentioned incl. froome will battle it out on alp d'huez and mr wiggo wont be able to cope.

I've got two questions for the more astute memebrs on this specific topic.....

1) Why does it seem everyone has made peace with the fact that Sky and Wiggins are the winners of this year's race and therefore we are watching a "casual" tour through France?

2) Any thoughts on what the guys are eating on these long days?

Uhm, ok.

Yeah, I take everything I read in the media with a piece of biltong.

I do think though that the tweet from his partner was some of his private thoughts.

1. Yep its kinda a done deal the only challenger to Wiggo is his worker bee Froomy.

2. I heard Mr Ligget say that they eat more solid foods like fruitcake in the first part of the stage, and later on they top up with energy gel type stuffs.

I reckon this Wiggens/Froome thing is getting blown out of proportion, I don't reckon there is too much going on at Sky itself, but more in the media and with girlfriends etc.

I'd say a combination of crashes and bad luck took care of a few contenders but mainly the strength of the Sky team as a whole and Wiggo / Froome in the TT has just ridden the rest out of it.

Watching the stages where quality riders were being shelled out the back on the early climbs show what massive pressure Sky laid down. It's not as exciting as heroic attacks but it's a jugganaut that means no one can even get a chance to get away.

Don't think any rider goes to the tour as a contender and just lets it slide. I think they've been snuffed out so far... but the mountains are coming again so who knows.

I just think Rolland missed the memo that they were waiting for Cadel. It did seem as if he sat up once he understood the situation. Didn't see him have a puncture, but it's certainly not impossible.

Yeah, you know the culture of media reporting.

Mostly to sell news. So sensationalise it. Especially the English press.

Regular breakaway 'specialist' Lulu gets some glory for the diminished Rabobank who only has 4 riders left in le Tour.
