M. Good point. I think during the 90's certainly the whole pro peleton doped. Maybe not all the time. Maybe not as systematically and as organised as LA did but I think they all did. And I think quite a lot of them still are to some degree or another.

 

The late '80s to '90s upped the doping game. EPO and blood manipulation changed everything.

Just my little theory that the major financial contributors knew exactly what was happening and joined in the effort to establish a icon in the cycling world. These brands profits in the US got boosted massively when he reached icon status. Creating a hero with a touching story at all cost was the project and they coined big time (and still is) from the success
