Warantee claim or not??

Hey Forum,

To make a long story short, too high of a gear and I stood up to try and pedal my way out.

'12 XT 10-spd cassette gave up, completely ripping itself of the body.

This occurred after about 3000km or riding, chain has been replaced fairly recently with an XTR

You guys reckon Shimano will honor the warantee and replace the unit?

Nope suprisingly not... I rode for 200m before I realised my rear derailer was making noise and something didn't quite feel alright...

Clearly your ITB must be getting better and you are back to FULL power!

I'd like to switch to a 2x10 set-up but no budget for now.... ITB is indeed getting better, thx Ben! :whistling:

3000 km. of riding.

Warrantee ?

If they do, you can love then loooong time.

Wear and tear is not covered under warranty, manufacturers defect is however.

You can try but I very much doubt it, 6 months only warranty on those normally

Claim as a latent defect

Well take a chance you never know

"better to have tried and failed then have failed to try" some might say

Phone the local distributors and see what they say, then e-mail them that photo and let them decide if its a valid claim or not.

I have e-mailed the cycle shop in CT to see if they will do it, they have promised to carry the warantee should something go wrong.

Awaiting reply...
