I have done more than 4000km on a XX 10 speed cassette, I also cross chain all the time (2 x 10 setup) but I replace my chains after 800km

The cassette is still going strong...

Same here, use XX cassette, done over 2000 km, third chain, clean cassette, chain and drive train once a week with Parafien.

Use Sram chains, found aftermaket chain not that durable.

Wow and I thought running my 3lt ranger was expensive R1.10 per km.

But at R3000 for an XX cassette plus 4x SRAM chains at R 400each. And some guys luckily getting 3000km that's R1.50 per km. ouch.

Thank goodness I run a SS 2500km on same chain and cogs and still going strong.

Came across this old thread/topic. Got wondering, the most I ever got out of a cassette was on my old Giant NRS. Made just over 8,000km’s on that cassette (9spd), however, I have no idea how many chains and chainrings I went through, I just know it was quite a bit more than 1. I must add that I probably did not ride that bike more than twice in rain & mud.

My current MTB cassette has 4,078km’s on it according to Strava & I do not yet have any sign of significant wear on the sprockets and have not yet had any jumping of the chain. During this time I have replaced 3 chains (SRAM PCX1) & 3 chainrings (various brands). Current chain is a KMC X11-93, with life left, and a cSixx chainring, seems to be holding up well.

What is your experience?

shimanos just last longer IMO

Ive been one the same shimano cassette since last year july,

I do alot of crude shifting and have snapped 10+ chains on it and still no slips or un-smoove shifting

Had a almost new sram for 2 months and i broke 4 teeth off it while shifting quickly

Eish... I have 3500km on my SRAM XG-1150 Cassette and I would say it's not even halfway through it's life. Change chains (SRAM PC-X1) every +/-1000km, and clean drivetrain with parafin every weekend and then re-lube.

It's 1x11, but I tend to use my 42t cog quite regularly. Cassettes should not be wearing as quickly as some people's on this thread!
