I am really impressed with Robyn as she has gone from a good rider to even better being the workhorse for Anriette....I actually think if a team had to work for her she would win quite a number of races

Now we are getting somewhere......

So.......if I was Robyn, I would move teams......

working for Anriette was always a problem.  You do not get the recognition you deserve........

Think it was the same issue with Merissa?  (Not sure though!!  Embarrassed)

Of.

anyway very entertaining, veral vetpens. hahahahahhaha

Why oh why can the same approach as we started with the junior men not be followed? we need to start " testing " these girls diffenrent from race situations - teamwork might for instance lead for a rider such as De Groot, make sure Schoeman gets to the line.  South-Africa has races that finishes in sprints - Anriette is the best sprinter I believe - so if any of the other teams want to take her to the line, their problem and probably their loss.  Anriette has the benefit and advantage of Robyn who is a strong team player - good for the both of them. Lots of things could be different.

We sometimes only focus on the same girls over and over.

I would say - do a camp - properly organized, with criteria set in place and expectances etc- future plans laid donw - after 4 days you might have the same or a slightly different picture. For instance, I made a personal shortlist of 15 juniors I thought before the camp would feature at the selection camp - in the end - only 10 of those 15 is in the group 14.  And 4 completely different names came to the front.  That shows - don't just go on past results.

My 2 cents - we have a future medal prospect for the worlds and possible for the olympics (in years to come), but to only focus and preparing one or 2 young girls will not get us the medals - we need to have a team of possible winners - this NZ tour is not the end of the world - nor do I even believe it is the start as adding riders who does not even believe and want Europe or international racing to be part of their personal goals anymore, asks me the question as to what is the plans for the future of ladies cycling - is there even a plan - make it public for us all to understand the reasoning behind this logic.

The Italians arrived at each of the world champs with almost each of their riders as a possible winner - why - it improved their chances. In fact, I think looking at the world champs - jnr men and ladies, elite men and ladies - they did the best. Why should we go and reinvent the wheel when their is actually already a plan that can be followed.

Kom nou....doen bietjie moeite en antwoord bietjie..........stop stirring....Very easy realy.  WinkBig%20smile

Sooo......

Why were there no camp held before the selection?  Did CSA not have any interest in the girls racing??  What are they busy with if they are not interested in sending the best team over????

I have got a nasty suspicion that the root cause of the problem may be that CSA sucks!! It would answer all the questions asked here, and some others:

1. Why was XYZ not included?   Because CSA sucks.

2. Why no training camp or critera for ladies? Because CSA sucks.

3. Why did Ronel retire? Because CSA sucks.

4. Why was the wrong list anounced? Because CSA sucks.

etc.

Perhaps this should be the answer to life, the univers & everything on the Hub insterad of 47?

Spidey, it was not my intention to stir the pot ... I merely raised my opinion about respect! Further, I personally do not have any problem with the selection of the team and as I am no "expert" on the subject of selecting a team; I can not contribute to the discussion ... Sorry Spidey!
