Hi guys

Emailed Crane Creek the requirements and they replied with the following:

Requirements:

The tapered steerer HEAD TUBE, which is 1.5 at the bottom and 1 1/8th at the top.

The top cup size is 44mm (41mm Bearing) and the BOTTOM USES a 52mm bearing directly fitted into the frame, with NO CUP. (Yes, it's absolutely fine). It's the same bearing that comes in the lower 56mm semi-integrated set. - (Our set-up runs a 44mm press-fit cup on top and a 52mm drop-in bearing that goes directly into the frame lower.)

answer:

Ok, so you need the ZS44/28.6 TOP and the IS52/40 BOTTOM. You can get this configuration in both the 40 or 110-Series

Got a question:

Whats the width of the crank required.

Then can someone explain:

The BB is a BB91, which according to the Shimano site have a shell width of 89.5mm.

Shimano also only lists 2 crank widths, 68/75mm and 83mm.

I'm thinking the Pyga needs a standard 68/75mm wide crank, but need confirmation.

And then:

Just confusing that the BB91 have a Shell Width wider than the available crank from them.

I'm trying to share with the hubbers my joy of receiving my new one10 pyga. An excellent assembly completed by Hannes and his team at Cyclotech in Bloemfontein. They felt the 'raw' aluminum would not be practical especially cleaning dirt grease etc and proceeded to have a clear coat applied by a specialist panel shop and the results are amazing. Will attempt to post pic tomorrow.

She is a beaut...even if I must say so myself.

Nice .... what are your intentions behind her build?

  • XC/Marathon type build
  • Everyday / ride anything / Trail bike

Im looking at everyday everthing - im more of a weekend warrior with friends so more social entering the odd races but nowhere near being competitive.

Kief ... that fox is a 120mm travel fork I hope, and that bike deserves a dropper post with nice wide tyres!
