Rich Stan Posted October 13, 2012 Posted October 13, 2012 Hi, has anyone imported a Garmin from CRC? Im in the market for a 310xt and can get a full bundle for R2700 compared to the R4000 odd it costs locally. I am just a bit concerned about import duties and warranty etc.

Thug Posted October 13, 2012 Posted October 13, 2012 I've bought 2 Garmins from CRC in the past with no problems and most recently a 910XT. Far cheaper than local retailers.

If you have your CRC page settings on rand and country as the uk that will give you the actual price u will end up paying give or take 30 rand If you set it to rand and south africa the price is tax free IE its 14% cheaper you then pay the 14% here as we pay the tax on this side and it equates back to the same.

Weight Weenie Posted November 18, 2012 Posted November 18, 2012 when I got my Edge 500 from CRC I'm pretty sure there was 10% duty and then 14% vat on that total. Looking to get a 910XT now, so is it still like that or just VAT at 14% with the clearance (R30?) fee paid here at the PO?
Lexx Posted November 18, 2012 Posted November 18, 2012 You are not going to pay any Duties for the GPS! But you will pay 14% VAT + 10% ATV to SARS . So i want to thank you for paying that VAT to us, Because your VAT is now paying my Overtime, and therefore i have more Moola's to buy Bicycle stuff
