Disturbing news in fact after what he told Darren in that interview.

In August, Liggett also stated that he would retire if Armstrong had been proven as a drug cheat. The UCI has to either ratify or appeal USADA’s case.

In his senile ramblings about big Tex not having doped is this beauty:

“I can’t [retire] because of contracts that have been signed that will not let me walk away. If I had no contracts signed I’d be ready to give up the sport now. I’ll be 70 years old next year and there are still things I want to do with my life. I can’t walk away because of contracts I’ve signed until 2016. I do find it depressing at times.”

Thank goodness Eurosport is available on the streams otherwise I would have to agree that cycling is serious trouble.

WTF?

Liggett added that Tyler Hamilton’s book, The Secret Race, had been an awakening. Having criticized Hamilton in the past, Liggett said: “I don’t believe it’s possible to write a book like Tyler Hamilton has done without it being the truth. I don’t think it’s possible. Everyone has read the book. There has to be a lot of truth in book but at the end of the day there has be a shadow of doubt.”

Jaysus, Phill, pick one!

Phil irritated the **** out of me but not for his Armstrong support but because i am positive that he is sucking off Wiggo! That is all he talks about during the tour

:D - I wonder why he signed the contracts in the first place if he has things he wants to do, which I assume, are outside of broadcasting cycling.

I found Mathew Keenan such a breath of fresh air during the Vuelta I couldn't wait to hear what he had to say, I also think Phil needs to retire, his monologue is stale and boring, he had his day, but its over, time to move on and let the youngsters through.

btw, he's probably on the hub and reading this....

just thought I'd throw that out there

Andrew, really? Phill loves us, but not that much. Wait, does he?

What you think the hub only allows SAFFA access....?

Ve Interweb are very out ver

Based on his recent ramblings, I don't think Phill has any idea what the interweb is, much less how to turn a 'puter on and join a forum.

PS, I thought you were Andrew?

If he's tied in by contract he can't exactly walk away without being sued for breach. Surely those he signed the contract with should be in a position to release him. Why wont they let him walk away, surely if the Hub is anything to go by they must know how unpopular he is.

You never liked him. You prefer the guy that recites the Giro.
