As @tumbleweed mentioned on another thread...from the picture they posted - looks like they cant even keep you on the trail.....

 

 

can you imagine all the little sticks, stones and mud that gets caught in there......aimed at the commuter in my opinion

Guys,

 

look past the mud and sticks problem, they already some where else said they will cover the side walls with a thin layer of rubber to prevent this,

 

think of the benefits, no punctures.

 

You select the hardness you want when buying the tyre say and that defines how much rubber there is between the rim and outside running surface,

 

can get very interesting.

Would prefer if they developed this as a combination of air and reinforcing. Sort of runflats for MTB tyres. Have air to give you the size of tyre you want and the reinforcing there as a runflat if you have a puncture. But then I guess that would add to the weight!

Yeah, I'm quite interested to seeing where this is heading. I think they have quite a great idea here, at least for the competitive cross country riders perhaps. I'm still unsure as to whether that'll be comfortable enough to go mainstream.
