Hi Hunters

I just got XTR BRAKESet M975 ai ai ai ai ai I am struggling to center them properly or to get some one to center it for me, the brake pads touches the disc so it makes the disc not flow properly it makes a sound and that makes my riding difficult .

I took it to 2 bike shops in Pretoria they failed to do a good job and expected me to pay I refused to pay because the job was not done properly .

is the anyone using this brakes ? any advise? or is there any bike shop in Pretoria that can help?

thanks.

it is disapointing to get topend products , xtr have no build up kit if a seal get worn out then what ? u have to get a new lever.

My guess would be a bent rotor.

Them XTR brakes is a pees of piss to set up. The traditional way is to loosen capilaer bolts, hold lever, tighten bolts. Simple.

I do it with a torch - hold torch behind caliper and check to see if pads are parallel, adjust as needed....

You really shouldn't battle with those brakes!

I agree...this is a piece of pie exercise, shouldn't take more than 2 min

I'm thinking of taking my bike to Solomon Cycles or Hotspot Cycle .

they must check the rotor or maybe they must just a full service .

thanks guys

Hatfield cycles has my XTR brakes sorted. I do the above regularly myself. Just remember to do only a little tightening on each bolt at at a time and alternate, otherwise the torque can twist it out again.

Much rather take it to Hot Spot. No offense to Solomon's but I doubt they have a ability to sort out issues like this.
