Best day out - Van Gaalens

Hardest day out - Thaba

Most borning day out - hehehehehehhe

Still need to do Kings. Heard only great things.

VG however is without a doubt the best riding you can do within a reasonable distance from JHB.

Second to VG I'd easily spend a day on Spruit. Great fun.

Thaba - Tough tough tough. You learn alot about your skills and fitness level at that place.

King's - Lekker trail with some sharp climbs here and there. Close to the northern suburbs so you can make it an epic day out if you start from your house, do a loop and go back

VG - Best trails imo for guys living in gauteng. Can do really big days there in a fantastic setting. Can also use VG as base ride starting venue for Breedts. The following sections are legend, wait for it....dary. River singletrack, Oom Piet's, Tant Miem's, Daggapad, Concrete slabs, Greek chruch

My fave thing about VG is the beer and cheesecake…

+1...die ou pastorie around the corner is great too, even better cheesecake than VG and the ale house also around the corner serves some really cool local brew. Had a clove beer there the last time, yum yum. You know you gonna drink some good beer when there is a Irish flag "wappering" in the wind as you drive up to it.

I have not been to vg yet.

We will correct this next weekend.

Had a great late afternoon ride there yesterday. Was weird arriving back to everything closed up, no one around and being the only car in the parking lot.

Can't comment on Kings Kloof.

1) Groenkloof

2) Thaba

3) Van Gaalens

Groenkloof is my favourite place to ride in Gauteng because of the variety, closely followed by Thaba which I love for it's technical descents and super steep climbs. Great for training.

To be honest, there isn't much separating these 3 trails, they are all brilliant.
