I also prefer morning racing as I do things on weekends...

I enjoy cycling and racing my bike, but it will never be my life...

Not disagreeing but I need to add my 5c because you do not get a 2c anymore:

  • I do not want to race on a Sat afternoon...whole day gone esp 170km
  • PPA cater for guys like me who is fit enough to race but do not have the ability/time to race 160km
  • PPA cater for the masses...to move a ride/race for 20-30 guys going to SA's not worth it.
  • Gauteng does not have a league like us never mind 160km races.
  • SA's age-group racing....think Western Cape is up there.

The Light's by Linea is great for Elite racing in Cape Town but I like my 80 - 110km morning races.

I agree, this afternoon racing sucks!

I dont mind waking up at 4am to get to a venue, atleast I have the weekend left afterwards.

Dude, the entry fee into the league is for all 7 races...

PPA membership is cheap...

If you not happy with the layout don't do it.

PS: coffee and muffin cost money too ;)

looks like I need to find a team to enter the league...getting a bit steep.

Isn't it more expensive to enter as a team? The way I read it, you still have to pay your individual entry fee and then a team entry fee on top of that?

The team entry is an additional amount to be paid extra ontop of the individual amount

No One that can answer my question?

What happens if you not a PPA member?

i heard that you must be a ppa member , if your membership lapsed and your new seeding doesn't warrant a place in league they will consider if u a member of a sponsored team or club.

When you ride for a team they usually cover your entry fee for the league....

Ja Ja, what im saying is that LBL had cut out all the middle men. And i could ride where i felt comfortable. Now we are forced in a blik again. I still say strength vs strentgh is the correct way!

Then the strongest ride 160 and get lowered by strentgh.

Im a SV with no PPA seeding as i didnt ride PPA races last year. Now i must go and ride Open, which means i ride with the Vets, which i dont have a problem with. Do you think they wont mind?

And my 2xcoffees and a muffin still cheaper ;-)

I think what Lambtjoppie is trying to say is that he needs someone who can sponsor his entry fee!!

Thats procedure, I had to work my way up to a seeding for elites, so you will need to do the same....just how life works.
