Hi Guys,

Anyone see the advert for the Momsen Mudscoop in bicycling last months eddition ??

I am very keen on getting 3 of these for my bikes - but guess what ??? the internet adress is for the wholesale site only.

I did send a request as to where I can find a dealer in cape Town but no reply !

Any of my fellow hubbers know where I can purchase the Mudscoop ?

Those look very much like the Marsh Guard. Wonder if there are any legal issues with copying the design?

Thanx - I really want the Momsen - it's a color co-ordination thing with my Specialized Epic

you want your Specialized to have something that says "Momsen" on it?! huh.png

I'll take the Mosh Guard thanks! Besides, Mr Minn uses one so it's bound to make me ride better!

ok, so I was browsing the Momsen site and saw this...

...Oversize design? those things are crazy skinny!

...Ideal with riser bars (looks cooler)?!

Either the Momsen guys are having a laugh with a little sarcasm and joking on their product descriptions... or they have no clue what they're on about. Hopefully for anyone using their products, it's the former.

I have one of the momsen mudscoops and it does not really help to keep the mud out of your face but it does keep it out of the headset.

I haven't tried one but they do look a little short to offer much mud/crud catching?

I guess its efficiency might be dependant on speed and angle.

The Marsh Guard (on which the Momsen was based) is widely used on European DH trails. Speeds are high, and the bike is generally angled downwards.

One may find that at lower speeds, and on flatter trails or even climbs, the mud spray pattern is rather different, thus rendering the guard less effective.

Right or wrong, I dunno?! Just a thought
