Ok' I'm probably on of those guys that drag along too much gear, the chap that has a chain breaker + spare link etc. It's always someone else's chain that breaks!

I'm doing the grootbrak 42km tomorrow, bit of tar, gravel roads and some stream crossing.

- I have tubeless , do I take a spare tube?

- do I take a pump, if I leave above tube?

- do I take a chain breaker + link?

- if I take a tube - do I take those goodies to remove the tire?

I'm an average amateur, out to have some fun and would be pissed off if I have to retire because of anyl of the above!!!

Depends on where.

If you know the terrain, the stops etc, take as little as possible.

Most of the time on rides that I do, I take nothing.

Road bike I take the basics to change a tube. That's it.
