How was your silly season campaign?

Recommended Posts

How was your training and diet over the period between 16 December and 6 January?

I did 493 km with 4570 m ascent. All on the MTB.

And I lost 2.5 kg.

Feeling very chuffed with myself.

Not too much time on the bike.

But plenty time running.

Went from 92kgs to 86 this morning.

Goal is 75.

Well done! My wife has become quite a demon on the bike and all because she's been running for two years now. Her power to weight has moved up to the next level (in her case running made her legs stronger as she doesn't have much weight to lose).

I have been cycling for years, but couldnt keep my weight down effectively.

By cross training, the few times i have been on the bike the last three weeks, i can feel my stamina is better.

I managed around 500km on the bike for Dec and managed to add a couple of kilos to myself!

I do like mince pies, christmas cake, choccies and beer over this period!

Here are my stats between 23-Dec and 6-Jan (all MTB) and managed to gain about 1kg.

EDIT: This also includes both the PSG Garden Route races where I managed 5th overall at both, 2nd race I was in the lead and came down hard in the single track about 5km to go, lost 2.5min on the winner because of it, oh well.

Well done, I also managed. Did you see the guy who "won" the challenge? Did something like 1800km in 6 days, doesn't seem possible.

Trained like a PRO.

Ate lots of jelly babies and pudding.devil.gif

Weight is steady.

Would've loved to be 2 kgs less - closer to my race weight.

No regrets!

Good job! Yes I saw some of the guys went mental. Like the dude in the UK that did 500km in one ride.

We did not go overboard in terms of trying to ride everyday during my 2 weeks leave.

Our stats are:-

Kms = 492

Hours = 28

Ascent = 6067m

Kgs lost = 2kgs ( target is another 2kgs by Lowveld Quest in April)

All on mtb

Started Gym again in december.

did 400 odd mtb kms, of which roughly half was singlespeed riding.

my beer consumption went way up, very chuffed with that.

but back to reality today. Work work work.
