I DIY till i either dont have tool or cant figure out whats wrong. However ill try doing everything once i have tools. Mechanics are the same as cars in my opinion your gonna get great ones and your gonna get the others and great ones will be worth going to when you cant do it yourself.

I enjoy tinkering but staying clear of the more specialized jobs. (I also have a tendency to break things LOL)

 

That said, sometimes time just doesn't allow and it's just easier and more convenient to drop the bike @ LBS.

What do you prefer?

 

Your own guy that spends more than a hour on a full service at the same cost?

Or

A hour service that a guy has to do, to get thru 8 bikes a day?

My shop mechanic is my personal mechanic, and he's pretty sharp. thumbup1.gif

so what do you do to your mechanic when he makes a hash of your bike, buy him new one?

my bike mechanic is also a shop owner.one man show and thats how i like it.i have learned over the years how to do most of the stuff but i do not touch shocks.

I would suspect these parts may however be the result of the 'peddle fitter experts' own tempts .....
