Bikes for Enduro... The restart

Ok,I'm thinking of trying 1 token in my Pike to see how it changes the bottoming.

I haven't bottomed my pike yet... Just not pushing hard enough, or it's the DP working some funky damping

I added 1 token to my Pike a while ago. Very subtle change, but that little extra progressiveness feels great. Also I dropped about 5 PSI of air pressure so it's more sensitive over small bumps. Pikes are just great, aren't they?

I bottomed my Pike badly the other day ... made a sickening sound ! Thought I had broken something.

I need to investigate putting in a token or two.

That happened to me once too - I added some more air as I was well under the recommended pressure and so far so good...

I am now running two tokens in my Pike. I compared my bike before the change with a mate on an identical Reign with the Tokens - he was plusher without bottoming out. Much better!

I'm running 30% sag, so pressure is right. Going to add a token.

What is the blacklite command post like? That's what it looks like on there, or a Giant dropper?

Running the Giant Dropper and been happy with it.

Only 100mm drop though .... 2016 range Giant droppers look to be going to 100mm, 125mm or 150mm options and will also run a dual bolt design vs the current single bolt to fasten the saddle rails

New dropper

Stock on a number of 2016 mountain bike models is the new Giant Contact SL Switch dropper seatpost. With the option to run either internal (stealth) or external cable routing, the post is a wholly new design that is said to be smoother in action than its predecessors.

Gone is the single-bolt side clamp, replaced by a simpler and more secure dual-bolt clamp head. A bonus of this design update is that both round and oval saddle rails can now be used.

From the information given, it appears that only a 30.9mm diameter will be offered, with three length/drop options available including 350mm x 100mm, 395mm x 125mm or 440mm x 150mm.

the 2016 encore has a lower shock mount which can be flipped to to change the head angle from 65º (low position) to 65.7º, and the seat angle from 75.3º to 76.1º. Bottom bracket drop changes from 14mm to 4.8mm.

Got a new one of these the other day...

http://www.silverbacklab.com/bike/mountain/2014-slider-1/

Tubeless conversion done with Ibex front and saguaro rear. fitted my boobar and Easton stem. Ive been  cruising it around and dialing it in. Hopefully ill get over flu sooner than later so I can get to ride it in the mountain!

Anybody have one of them? I know its not the traditional go to Enduro bike, but I intend to see what it can take.

That is a great bike and you are in for many happy miles.

Did a review a while ago on it, really really enjoyed the ride and feel of the suspension. I would say more Trail vs "Enduro" .... but deep down inside I know that bike can definitely run a 160mm fork and will do very well.
