ill be honest. No i have not because there are more than 40 pages.

I just want to know will these frames take rough XCO riding ?

Yes. Post the links you looking at.

Most of sellers on eBay all belong to flyxii. Google them check out their website. I've bought and built 3 of their frames. All take serious hammering "XC" style.

Also currently riding a FM056 from hongfu. No issues. If you mean "XC" do you mean weight weenie "XC"?

Chinese carbon frames varies in weight from about 1100g to about 1300g.

Dont know if this was posted here before but I dont have time to read through all the pages again.

I am getting a frame from Aliexpress. Its getting shipped via EMS. To whom will I pay the duties/VAT?

Will EMS pay that and I pay EMS or do I pay the Customs directly?

You will pay EMS when they deliver at your door....well I did at least

Ja, they have a little mobile card machine, so you don't even have to carry cash....They obviously hand the money over to customs

Even better. So I dont have to struggle with eft's, printing proof of payment etc. Just swipe and start building!

Big Smile- cant wait!

my purchases were different, maybe because i'm a regular customer of Customs.

well my goods always get stopped at customs, and i need to go in to collect with invoices and id.

found it strange that @rouxtjie things were delivered to he's door.

true story, via EMS....was no different than a cwc order...Courier outjie stopped with his bakkie at my place, puts box in my hand, asks for a signature and pay customs. No mess, no fuss.

It depends on the courier co. DHL also handle customs clearances for you. If its just sent via regularl mail, then you have to handle clearance yourself. I find the easiest way is to fax original bid/invoice and delivery instructions to customs. Then pay the customs amount @ the post office

EMS is a to the door delivery service. The parcel only gets stored at the mail centre if a) there is no invoice included with the goods or B) most likely scenario, customs does not believe the declared value is correct.

An individual is allowed to make 3 imports per annum before needing to become registered as an importer with SARS and being allocated a importers code. This is NOT enforced.

Meezo, looks like the reason you have to front up is volume based for same type of product on a regular basis.

Thought as much... My understanding is that one needs an importing/exporting license too, if amount of importing/exporting > R100k? Correct??

oh ok thanks, any Cape Townians placing chinese orders soon?

Hey milky4130, did you place any orders yet? The 40+ pages convinced me to be in the market now  . In the Big Bay area (even though my profile reads Randburg - still need to change it).
