I think they should take the elite( all licensed riders, top age groupers) out, start them first... Then let every one else stand in the starting chute. Block off small groups of 20-50 riders and let them go in 1 minute intervals. The amount of riders in the group can be worked out by the distance in kiometers( or hundreds of metres) to the first single track/ bottle neck.

e.g first single track 6km, 6000m, random 60 riders, all go over start/finish mats.Time taken, give position. The current Nissan start batches of 250, or so are too big.

Passing is now part of MTB racing, the brave/stupid/fast are rewarded. Chicken runs can be added, but marshalling will always be an issue with so many riders.

I think the main problem with the seeding is not the database itself, but that race results are not being captured quickly enough and this is therefore an administration problem. Race results are generally available a day or two after a race, so why then does it take months to load them into the SA Seeding database, by the time they are entered (if ever) they are no longer reflecting current rider ability or achievements.

I understand that only certain races are used, but to have only 2 races out of 5 "LISTED" & 3 other unlisted race results recorded / captured so far for this year, which means good results are not being taken into account?

I was also seeded in H. After explaining to the lady that this cannot be right she looked at what was on the saseeding site and bumped me up to C. I must admit that the initial H seeding had me slightly tense.

I was there today at cyclelab, you must ask them to re-seed you.

She has a list of batches and seeding index break downs

i was seeded in G, after re-seed i am in C.

My seeding index was 42.

No what happened here was I was seeded in C and moved to ride with my buddy who's doing his first Nissan Trail Seeker.

So they just moved you into the open slot I created

I see what you did, and we are on the same page.

I'm not as full of **** as other hubbers. I'll settle for a fair B ;)

Screw that, I say shoot the lights out and demand an A-batch....you know aim high and all that. Be sure to pitch in your Sani jacket / Epic finishers shirt / joberg2c hoodie / 3 towers bandana / RASA blankie at registration to drive the point home....

PS the "I conquered babbas lodge" t-shirt doesn't work that well

I'll wear my 3 year old monster t shirt

Will get you a C-batch.

Make a cape epic finishers shirt, print a couple of transferable stickers and boom, see you in A-batch
