popcorn_skollie Posted March 3, 2017 Share So this build is whats been keeping me busy. Almost everything sourced from various hubbers. She just needs a thing or two before I put her on a corner to make me some money. http://i.imgur.com/e8mncvr.jpghttp://i.imgur.com/l1TAwQn.jpg At the moment she has a compact 9 speed road cassette and RD. But the idea of a dropper and wide range 1x10/11 drive is very appealing. So I have to meditate on this. Shuttle bike? or Super Enduro? popcorn_skollie Posted March 3, 2017 Share Shuttle bike, or "hike and bike super enduro legs of steel on the peddle sections" bike I *** on the way up anyways. Thing is though. If there's no lift up. I HATE pushing.I'd rather pedal up at the pace of caterpillar. Pushing is taxing on my calves. Going to be difficult to get the necessary range from a 1x10/1x11 cassette for pedaling up easily without spinning out on the way down. I prefer to just hike n bike when it gets too steep. I dig the bike btw, Glory with single crown fork looks like a Reign on steriods! remfactor

Wide-range 10spd cassette and a 30T chainring and you'll be sorted. Don't stress about spinning out. You're not riding dirt roads on that thing. If you get your pump on and the trail is steep enough, you hardly need to pedal. He's not gonna be sprinting at more than 40kph so anything larger than a 30t will be useless. But yeah - it's a BEAST!!! I want a coil shock. Odinson Posted March 3, 2017 Share I'll be taking my baby out on her first Enduro this weekend: Round 1 of the Belgian Enduro Cup. Going to be rainy, with max temps of about 11°C. Haven't ridden in the area, so going in blind - true Enduro style. We'll also be doing three stages after dark. popcorn_skollie, T-Bob, TAAHIRWP and 1 other

If gravity has your back and you're riding techy trails, you'll hardly ever be cranking the cranks when doing over 35km/h. Enduro races aren't won or lost by who can push the biggest gear. Yes it all depends on the terrain, but welcome to SA where gravity doesn't always have your back and you need to put in some pedal strokes on the flat sections. Enduro races are won by who is the fastest, if the winner had to pedal on the flats and you couldn't...

Right now he just wants to have fun on the trails and get to the top without having a hernia. Wide range and 30t for the win.
