KingTJ, the Nomad is fine at Giba ... it climbs exceptionally well for its geometry. You are not going to be racing up the hills there so if you can find a good deal then its worth it.

At our level of riding the Nomad vs Bronson will feel very similar. But the Nomad may give you a bit more confidence to hit some of the bigger stiff at Giba.

If I go down this weekend and i see you you are welcome to take my bike for a spin to see how it feels.

Thanks Nigel, much appreciated.

Thanks for the input...im looking at the 2 in the classifieds on the hub...i mostly do trail , enduro and some junping in between. The Bronson is a med and the nomad a large...

Hi KingTJ

I have an awesome Santa Cruz Nomad C Large available. If your interested let me know. Cheers. P.S. it is on the Hub if that's the one you referring to. I'm 1.79/1.8 tall and Large fits me fine.

That's a pretty burly tire for the rear no?  Why not go for the better suited Ground Control if I may ask?

Hi, purely experimental. I have the GC and purg up front on my other wheelset, so wanted to try this combo on the loose stuff and many small rocks that Hakahana (local riding spot in Gauteng) has to offer.  When i ride longer distances and hardpack i'm planning on changing back ,which isnt all that often though. Apparently the new purg rolls pretty well too, so will find out this weekend : )

Nice bike!

However, that loooong stem? Ooh, eh, eh. I'd chuck that silver crank and stem and red chainring and go for a murdered out black look.

Yeah, so much fun! Its a bike that really encourages you to lean and push through berms and then pop off any thing you can find. I'm not a skilled rider by any means, but it is giving me a lot of confidence on the downs.

On the ups... well, its not for racing uphill. You just put it in granny and wind your way up slowly and chat to your mates, or take in the sights. But that totally suits me, it gets the job done to get to the trail head, but its not an all rounder in that respect.
