I think we all suffer from them to some degree.I've managed to divert my new bike feening with small doses of old bike restoration...for now. With regards to your pending decision. I've had a friend that suffered from this itch worse than anyone I knew. He bought and sold so many bikes its crazy. Always raved about the Teocali. (and Treks, he was crazy about Treks too) But he also went back to 3 different Teocali's over the years. That says a lot. And then THIS popped into the classifieds... TBH there isn't much wrong with the Teocali... and it has yet to let me down.... I run out of skill long before I run out of bike.... I've owned it for around 5 years now so it's the itch more than anything else.
