'Dale Posted May 27, 2013 Posted May 27, 2013 (edited) The Giro was a massive success over the last 3 weeks.Slowly, attention will turn to the 100th edition of the TdF. 4 weeks to go to this magnificent event. The maillot jaune will be hotly contested and so, too, the maillot vert, as road cycling continues to resurrect itself from recent and ongoing scandals and controversy. What are your thoughts?Whose the team you'll be shouting for?Who'll rule in yellow and green? http://d4nuk0dd6nrma.cloudfront.net/wp-content/uploads/2013/05/CORVOS_00021415-024.jpg Edited June 3, 2013 by ' Dale

SwissVan Posted May 27, 2013 Posted May 27, 2013 Sooo what has Contadoris been up to lately, seems to be keeping out of the headlines which is probably a good thing
Wez-O Posted May 27, 2013 Posted May 27, 2013 So here is my million Dollar prediction:Maillot Jaune: Froome, partly because of his great form this season and partly because I don't see anyone beating a Sky rider backed up by Wiggins, Porte, Uran & Knees.Runner Up: ContadorThird: NibaliFourth: RodriguezFifth: Van Garderen (assuming he is allowed to drop Evans on the hills AGAIN) I don't see anyone talking more sprint points than the Manx Missile Cavendish but I have no doubt Sagan and Gripel will nick a few stages off him unlike the giro where the challenges weren't even able to follow his wheel. drakegilbert 1
jcza Posted May 27, 2013 Posted May 27, 2013 I'm going to wait a while before making a prediction....
Wez-O Posted May 27, 2013 Posted May 27, 2013 I'm going to wait a while before making a prediction.... In case Contador eats contaminated beef again?
jcza Posted May 27, 2013 Posted May 27, 2013 In case Contador eats contaminated beef again? Hahahaha.......well ok that too but waiting to see what the Sky plan is
'Dale Posted May 27, 2013 Author Posted May 27, 2013 Hahahaha.......well ok that too but waiting to see what the Sky plan is I reckon the defending champ will earn the nr 1 rider status.Go ahead, cast your vote. Denny Menchov 1
'Dale Posted May 27, 2013 Author Posted May 27, 2013 I am voting for multiple Grand Tour winner, 'Berto. Would dearly love for Froome Dawg to rule, but Sky politics will screw up his ambitions unless he chucks the earpiece, chews through the leash and chase Contador to the summit. Thereby, FORCING Sky's hand with his humongous lead over Wiggo. Wil6 1
Butterbean Posted May 27, 2013 Posted May 27, 2013 What are the dates for Le tour? Looking forward to this one!

Thereby, FORCING Sky's hand with his humongous lead over Wiggo. The thing is, even taking Froome's form out of the picture, this years tour has far too much climbing for Wiggins to succeed. Sky would be absolutely nuts to back Wiggins ahead of Froome (or Uran for that matter). What are the dates for Le tour? Looking forward to this one!29 June.
cadenceblur Posted May 27, 2013 Posted May 27, 2013 so nobody thinks Nibali will post a serious challenge this year then? I think he's one to watch.
Wez-O Posted May 27, 2013 Posted May 27, 2013 so nobody thinks Nibali will post a serious challenge this year then? I think he's one to watch.Great cyclist and in a class of his own at the Giro, however although it's not quite impossibly, it is very very difficult to win two grand tours in a year, never mind 2 grand tours in 2 months. I also think his teams strength might be shown up against the far superior teams that will be taking part in the TdF and finally Nibali would generally be expected to lose time in time trails but at the Giro the time trials were more like mountain climbs and that suited Nibs style.
