rouxtjie Posted July 16, 2013 Posted July 16, 2013 They just awarded him the stage, just because. Everyone else is going for 1st loser! He even won yesterday's rest day I believe T-Bob and Tubehunter 2
T-Bob Posted July 16, 2013 Posted July 16, 2013 About Pinot: The Frenchman admitted that he had major problems on testing descents. "Some people are afraid of spiders or snakes. I'm afraid of speed. It's a phobia," he confessed. Anyone else think that should have been flagged as a bit if an issue with his chosen sport?
Cav' Posted July 16, 2013 Posted July 16, 2013 If I had to pick someone for the stage out of the break i'll choose Costa Andrew Steer 1
Wez-O Posted July 16, 2013 Posted July 16, 2013 About Pinot: The Frenchman admitted that he had major problems on testing descents. "Some people are afraid of spiders or snakes. I'm afraid of speed. It's a phobia," he confessed. Anyone else think that should have been flagged as a bit if an issue with his chosen sport? Scared of descents? So that makes both him and Bradley Wiggans then...
Wez-O Posted July 16, 2013 Posted July 16, 2013 If I had to pick someone for the stage out of the break i'll choose CostaI sure hope so, I went for him in the ASG picks competition.Very strong breakaway group though. Gilbert & Voekler are also good bets for the win. StevieL and Cav' 2
Tubehunter Posted July 16, 2013 Posted July 16, 2013 Doesn't seem like anyone can agree on who is on that group or not. Ryder H was supposed to have taken the 1st mountain points but doesn't feature now. Looks like it's the 'move of the guys who were predicted to be in the top 10 this year'! Here goes: After 38 km, we have 23 riders in the lead, with a 2:35 lead over the field.Letour tells us the riders are:Hansen (LTB), Gilbert and Quinziato (BMC), Gallopin (RTL), Gautier and Voeckler (EUC), Kadri and Riblon (ALM), Roche (TST), Trofimov (KAT), Astarloza (EUS), Costa (MOV), Coppel and Navarro (COF), Mori (LAM), Velits (OPQ), Navardauskas (GRS), Albasini and Meyer (OGE), Dumoulin (ARG), De Gendt and Hoogerland (VCD) and Marino (SOJ). Sagan will be bummed to have missed this one!
Tubehunter Posted July 16, 2013 Posted July 16, 2013 I sure hope so, I went for him in the ASG picks competition.Very strong breakaway group though. Gilbert & Voekler are also good bets for the win. I'm hoping for Albasini and OGE to get honours from this bunch!
Daideron Posted July 16, 2013 Posted July 16, 2013 Navardauskas if the break is not caught. Thats my pick for the stage. But Sagan if the bunch reels them in
StevieL Posted July 16, 2013 Posted July 16, 2013 I sure hope so, I went for him in the ASG picks competition.Very strong breakaway group though. Gilbert & Voekler are also good bets for the win. He is my pick in the ASG comp. He impressed me on the Ventoux coming in with Evans...
Eldron Posted July 16, 2013 Posted July 16, 2013 (edited) Man that is a mixed up break - calling it is flippin impossible. My picks for the day were Voekie and Gilbert but I'm gonna throw Roche in there as an 100-1 bet :-) Edited July 16, 2013 by Eldron
Eldron Posted July 16, 2013 Posted July 16, 2013 From cyclingnews.com: They were 130km to go at 14:18 and 48km to go at 14:25 - thats 82km in 7 minutes. Ok they are DEFINITELY on drugs!!!!! 702km/hr - sheeeeeet. 43.5km remaining from 168km 14:25:08 CEST And the gap is already at 5:21 for this 26-man group. 14:22:34 CEST Looks like this group is going to go. They now have 4 minutes,. And Arnold Jeannesson (FDJ) has joined them. 130km remaining from 168km 14:18:20 CEST Here goes: After 38 km, we have 23 riders in the lead, with a 2:35 lead over the field. Letour tells us the riders are: Hansen (LTB), Gilbert and Quinziato (BMC), Gallopin (RTL), Gautier and Voeckler (EUC), Kadri and Riblon (ALM), Roche (TST), Trofimov (KAT), Astarloza (EUS), Costa (MOV), Coppel and Navarro (COF), Mori (LAM), Velits (OPQ), Navardauskas (GRS), Albasini and Meyer (OGE), Dumoulin (ARG), De Gendt and Hoogerland (VCD) and Marino (SOJ).
jcza Posted July 16, 2013 Posted July 16, 2013 Only four teams not represented in escape groupThere are 18 of the 22 teams in the 100th Tour de France represented in the escape today. They are 7'20" ahead of the peloton and the squads which don't have anyone up front are: Sky, Cannondale, Astana and Belkin.
dev null Posted July 16, 2013 Posted July 16, 2013 Sagan will be bummed to have missed this one! Sagan said on Sunday that he is tired and just want to survive to the finish in Paris. I don't think he is going to overextend himself anymore. His target is the green jersey.
dracs Posted July 16, 2013 Posted July 16, 2013 I'm calling it Albasini's if the break surivives. the dude has been strong - and he's the one OGE guy to miss out on yellow (was = time with gerrans and Impey)...
