dev null Posted July 22, 2013 Posted July 22, 2013 Looking at that previous champs pic, Monsieur Le Mond looks like an unfriendly bugger.
Chro Mo Posted July 22, 2013 Posted July 22, 2013 Nope - don't think so.  He's quite friendly - read an article by a journalist about how he interviewed Lemond at the height of his fight with Trek. Lemond saw the terrible condition of his bike, was incredulous that he actually rode it, then immediately offered this penniless nobody journo one of his own bikes from his garage. He may not be everyone's favourite, but he will always be a hero of mine because he evokes such a sense of time and place for me - he was champion when I first became interested in cycling.
Wyatt Earp Posted July 22, 2013 Posted July 22, 2013 Looking at that previous champs pic, Monsieur Le Mond looks like an unfriendly bugger. I will get grilled and pulled over the coals if I was to say something about the man again.
HappyMartin Posted July 22, 2013 Posted July 22, 2013 Disappointments for me, and I guess they are getting on and play a more background roll now, Roche and Chavanel. Â Cuddles I feel a lot of sympathy for. In his prime he rode clean against cheats. That's my feeling anyway.
LeTurbo Posted July 22, 2013 Posted July 22, 2013 I suppose we should get used to saying, "Sir Chris" in future?
jcza Posted July 22, 2013 Posted July 22, 2013 Interesting that Ogrady signed new contract last month but today announced immediate retirement.
kosmonooit Posted July 22, 2013 Posted July 22, 2013 Interesting that Ogrady signed new contract last month but today announced immediate retirement. Good for him, to go out on a high,

jcza Posted July 22, 2013 Posted July 22, 2013  Good for him, to go out on a high, Or maybe his name is on the list to be published by the French senate with '98 TdF positives? TALUS 1
Ryanpmb Posted July 22, 2013 Posted July 22, 2013 Â Â You both Green with Envy maybe ?? Of Sagan?! Noooo... Cav', TJ, Froome, Porte maybe. Quintana was my man of the tour. Showed his stuff by pedaling when it mattered.
'Dale Posted July 22, 2013 Author Posted July 22, 2013 Interesting that Ogrady signed new contract last month but today announced immediate retirement. Albasini and Meyers signed with Orica again
kosmonooit Posted July 22, 2013 Posted July 22, 2013 Or maybe his name is on the list to be published by the French senate with '98 TdF positives? Maybe .. but here is the article I read. After Tour successes, O’Grady announces retirement

jcza Posted July 22, 2013 Posted July 22, 2013  Albasini and Meyers signed with Orica again Really enjoyed watching OGE obviously with a Impey bias! Yes Goss disappointed but rest were great.
'Dale Posted July 22, 2013 Author Posted July 22, 2013   Really enjoyed watching OGE obviously with a Impey bias! Yes Goss disappointed but rest were great. To think both them and Argos' are so young on the WorldTour calendar and already making huge impressions. Fresh air into cycling.
