Tumbleweed Posted July 23, 2013 Posted July 23, 2013 Tweet from yesterday: "Souvenirs from my very probably last @LeTour". With him you never know :-) Will miss him! Very much so. The most entertaining of any Tour rider ever. If it's Jens's last, thanks for the memories. EZRider 1
Wyatt Earp Posted July 23, 2013 Posted July 23, 2013 All the talk about Frrome, becoming an overnight success, he is, an overnight success, one that took ten years to come to light. Ja, he is far from being an overnight success.

Wyatt Earp Posted July 23, 2013 Posted July 23, 2013 This difference is that Wiggins's speciality on the track was in the pursuit, which makes him a decent TT rider. He wasn't a sprinter. http://static.giantbomb.com/uploads/original/8/88439/1390889-nail_on_the_head.jpg But I guess we should all adopt the approach that all humans are equal. Tumbleweed 1

KnobbyMech Posted July 23, 2013 Posted July 23, 2013 (edited) One thing people simply don't get, and even coaches....Each person has a genetic make-up that makes for their talent.I see how people misunderstand ability or underestimate others, ... Excuse me, but wasn'd Bradley wiggins a track cyclist of note before he "changed" into a GC contender? Took him 2 years, but he did it. Edit: Oops, sorry, i see this was discussed. jcza Posted July 23, 2013 Posted July 23, 2013 This difference is that Wiggins's speciality on the track was in the pursuit, which makes him a decent TT rider. He wasn't a sprinter. Wiggo was a useless climber when he first started in the Grand Tours. Sprinting is not a requirement to be a GC contender. Climbing and TT'ing are the requirements.
