i see there is a lekker tri in mossel bay 3 nov at santos beach.as it is my place of birth will go and do it 1.6/60/15.lekker to gauge progress for 70.3.

Hi guys, do you have any coaches you can recommnd? Im based in Witbank, dont think I have any chance of getting one here or in Middelburg. So guess my best bet is in Pretoria. I would like someone who can build a program around what I need/want with maybe one personalized session a month.

 

Also looking to maybe fall in with a triathlon club, see TUKS has one...

I havent used these guys but maybe they'll work for you since you're out in Witbank. They are based in Fourways (I know you asked about Pta) and work off TrainingPeaks for athletes not close to them. If you dont manage to find someone in PTA you could give them a try.

I officially launched my training last week. Very slowly. I did my first swim since March yesterday and I only managed 600m. I felt like a brick. There is some hard work lying ahead.

My cardiologist has given me the ok.

I'll enter at the end of the month to keep me motivated through winter.

I officially launched my training last week. Very slowly. I did my first swim since March yesterday and I only managed 600m. I felt like a brick. There is some hard work lying ahead.

Swimming is the hardest to get back into for sure. My first 4 sessions back I thought I'd forgotten how to swim.

 

Slowly coming back. Very slowly.

I last swam in Feb! The first step is actually packing a gym bag - I did that 2 days ago and its in my car boot... Will take the plunge tomorrow I think...

:), I feel your pain.

 

Did 50km on the bike this weekend and I'm still busy recovering.

 

Took a 3 week holiday and put on 4kg, so it's back to salads and water for a while.

The calf issue was a clot.It was picked up at the end of last year.

 

Eish...do you know what caused the clot, was it a specific event or a random one?

I find swimming quite 'easy' to get back into compared to running, but then again, I loathe running. I'm always ok with cycling as mtb keeps me busy through winter.

Just entered and paid for IM70.3 - first one for me - now to start the proper running training and to get back into the pool...

 

SWIM - Last proper swimming was in high school - was strong swimmer then - so just need to train again.

 

BIKE - no problem here, just keep the normal training going.

 

RUN - I have never ran more than 10km - so that will fun to get the training going. started training for the Xterra in Knysna 6 weeks ago, so the running training has started..
