Hope those that weren't sick had a quality weekend. The volume is done, now its time to fine tune and focus on speed.

Few lighter sessions this week, then a 90km with race efforts & short brick on Sat, followed by one last med-long run on Sunday...

Time to focus on eating quality foods, sleep well and keep the bugs away!

I have honestly had enough of all the training, especially the long solo rides and runs, It is not fun anymore and I am just excited for this day to arrive.

I am keeping my sessions short (30-45min) and sharp this week, with my longest being a 2hr ride (not solo) on Saturday. I am not going to stress to much if I miss a workout or two. I think at this stage my body and mind need the rest more than the training. (I might regret this statement when I hit the start of the marathon. ) Hopefully I will feel rested and ready to go on race day.

Yeah agree, my priority lies in the focus of "extra 15min sleep" over "extra 15min training" these final 2 weeks.

Well I am just recovering from a serious cold that kept me out the whole of the long weekend. However one should never try and catch up. I will just aim at having a quality week with moderate sessions when possible.

It is so close now. Everyone please stay calm :w00t:

Are you 100% Garf? What helped you?

I still have some work to do this week, around 14 hours with some intervals and speed work, trying to dial in that IM race tempo. Just trying to keep it going now, I can start relaxing later in the week. I don't want to go into the race with my body going into rest mode

Seems like everyone is doing a short ride this weekend. What are your thoughts on doing the a lap of the IM route on Sunday? Will be in PE from Saturday.

Would really like to do one of the laps (90km) on sunday at an easy pace.

Not a bad idea. 90km easy, with a few 5 minute race tempo efforts thrown in will be fine. Wouldn't do that any later than Sunday tho.

Yes I am 100% now thanks. Nothing helped. I chose not to do meds as I then cannot really tell when I am better. I did take med-lemon at bedtime however...

Its a great idea, its not going to hurt a week before race, just take it nice and easy.

It would be nice to hear your feedback on the course as well, as long an you say its fast, flat and smooth with a tailwind

Glad to hear!!! Doc says I'm ok, couple of niggles to clear up but nothing in the chest so will try a couple of light sessions.

Would be interested to know the time split between start and Maitlands, and Maitlands and finish. How much longer it would take to 'go out' with all the hills than to 'come back'.

The problem here is wind direction could effect this massively...
