SUPER EXCITED!!!

Also excited, but definitely a few nerves starting to kick in. I went for a relaxed 5k run this morning with some short intervals and it was great not to worry about time, heart rate etc.

SUPER EXCITED!!!

Ahh the week of stress and doubt.

Have I trained enough?

Am I over-trained?

Should I have bought an aero road helmet?

Perhaps I need a bike fit?

Is that a tickle in my throat?

Carboloading?

7 or 8 bar?

Which goggles, what if the strap breaks on my race pair?

Should I try that new nutritional product?

Could Tim Noakes be right?

Bunkers Hill isn't that bad is it?

Should I really be trying new shoes after only 40km in them?

Should I go harder on the bike than last year?

One tube or two?

One bomb or two?

Should I have put new tyres on?

Hope the airline doesn't smash my bike

And the list goes on

HAHA - Some good questions, made all my decisions and sticking to them, no second guessing at this stage ;-)

First one - going for a sub 5:20 - bring it!! (said with slightly nervous confidence ;-)

:). Too true, all of the above for me. I'm actually going for a bike fit this afternoon...

Also, every time I clear my throat I'm thinking "Oh, no, that;s probably flu!"

Some more things to worry about:

Should I set 2 alarms or 3?

What if I can't fall asleep the night before?

Is my nutrition strategy OK?

Can I trust the food at the hotel?

Have I spent enough time in the aero position?

Bike fit this arvie, that's a bit close to race day to change the position? you been training and are used to one position, changing now could seriously cause trouble, especially from bike to run...

Stoke the fear......

Will the beers still be cheap?

Is the after-party going to be messy?

Will the organisers manage to find an even cheaper and nastier bag than last year?

This is the only one I know for sure. Answer is yes. (well at least mine will be)

Nah, pretty flexible so I should survive. In any case, it's only 90km, 45km of which I probably won't even be in aero due to the fact that I'll be climbing...

Just been feeling a loss of power on the hills and want to make sure it's not my position that's causing it. If the position change is too hectic I'll just take my road bike.

Travel safe all, enjoy slumtown with our horrible traffic, potholes and broken glass everywhere.

p.s. our municipality is busy sweeping the race route/s and are busy patching the potholes.

You didn't mention the speed bumps every 50m

But on the positives you must:

Have a sundowner at the highlander (Blue Lagoon bar)

Friesland Milkshake

Dagwood Burger from the Windmill

Just mark the old positions so you can go back to them if necessary. But you already knew that.
