Most of the jeep track is bi-directional if there are green arrows on it - a lot of folk dont seem to know that.

Agreed on singletrack, there's no excuse. Where did you encounter these guys, Iron?

It looked like a footbridge was close to opening to get into the park, avoiding the sharp drop we've had to negotiate. Did that get used this weekend or does anyone know when it will?

single track section down by the river after the tar road .

I dont see how the sharp drop is a problem and did not notice any footbridge there , will look next time .

ok ok , but that was the same day the trail direction was changed so we all went the wrong way BUT its been 8 odd weeks now so it safe to say that we need to take note of the new direction before we hurt eachother .

PS , thats the last time you rode with that clown on his SS , you scared now :whistling:

The sharp drop is fun, why remove it?

Trails everywhere are being dumbed down to suit the dirt-roady crowd who can't negotiate the most basic of trail obstacles. Roots are filled in, drops are flattened out and rocks are removed from trails to make sure Jannie en Sannie don't accidentally have to stop and walk 5 meters.

i agree with you .

i say make a detour for the familiy riders ( lots of kiddies, biggeners ect ride at modders ) but keep the obsticals . it alows us to still ride them and newbie's to try them and learn .

Rietvlei is a great venue where this is done. They have clear markings for the bull and chicken runs. Works really well. When I ride there with my wife she takes the chicken run and I do the bull. Works perfectly.

Some of the other trails however...

Rode there for the first time yesterday with my family - did the green route as they are beginners. Not sure I saw any technical sections (apart from the first little hill) on that route, but is good for first timers.

Had no idea it was such a nice spot. Can't wait to do some of the longer routes and maybe find some technical bits.

Oh, and we went the right way round because we didn't know better...

Wednesday night 60 min lung busting dash near the airport - 7km dirt roadie course. Loads of fun. Bring your lights!
