Waiting for any British dramas and cop shows to drop...like Vera etc.

The wife and I have rather different tastes in shows, except for British Crime Dramas.

We tried season 1 of Vera but didn't quite get into it. I've heard the later seasons are better, so would you recommend persisting?

In general though, we like pretty much anything with Nicola Walker in

  • The Unforgotten
  • Annika
  • River
  • The Split (not a crime drama like the above, but still good)

Oh, one I forgot that I binge watched while the wife was overseas...

Jury Duty (Amazon)

The premise of the show is great. It's fake court case, and all participants are actors, except 1 who thinks it's all real. Each episode follows how he (the unaware juror) deals with the various situations thrown his way by the controlled narrative, and likewise, impressive how the cast and crew adapt what they do and say based on his unpredictable reactions.

Rather funny and definitely worth a watch.

  • 4 weeks later...

OK, so I learnt of something called My Family Cinema the other day. Apparently, an amalgam of pretty much all the major streaming services at a fraction of the price.

It sounds mega dodge, but naturally it's enticing.

Who has it? Can I use it on my MIBOX?

Tour de France series on Netflix, excellent. Better than drive to survive I reckon.

I fully agree...

Fubar was entertaining as well as Tulsa King.

I see there is a 100 days to indy, hopefully better than drive to survive.

I saw Fubar on the list and based on it being Arnie and the pic, it looked like it could be along the same lines as Tulsa King, since i was not in the mood I left it.

Will give it a go sometime though.

Tulsa king was entertaining, we'll leave it at that.

Going to stop you right there, chief.

DTS is the OG. All these others that have come along (think the golf one too), mere copies. We're perhaps blinded by the content, because we love cycling, but whoever thought the dubbing was a good idea, this ruins the entire series for me. And the fabricated tension.

I hear what you saying and I checked myself for bias as you mention.

And I found myself devoid of such bias. TdF has more insights from the team principles. Less cagey and more forthright. It’s a more dynamic and strategic sport which forms the foundation of the series.

don’t get me wrong. I love DTS but I think the TdF series is more insightful. A bicycle is after all a bicycle. The difference is not machine but strategy. In F1 we know the car is the differentiator.

Tell that to Ferrari's F1 "strategists" LOL.
