DJR Posted October 25, 2013 Share DAMN!!! Don't stress too much about mud & rain. By far the bulk of the W2W trails are not muddy and slippery and they dry out quickly (like most of our Cape trails). The muddy bits are few and far between, but they tend to stay muddy. Those are mostly on day 3, and no more than a few hundred metres long. Lots of people had broken chains / chain stuck & other mud related problems. I didn't, but I'll take your word for it because I know the Burger/Stellenbosch mtb also often turn out a mudfest of note. I certainly won't fit mud specific tyres.Yip the Burger can get a few mud patches but that's childs play compared to the mud on Grabouw mountains... it is very different almost clay like.. k@k slippery & piles up nicely to your mtb haha..
