My first Sani. Any suggestions on tyres?

I like good knobblies up front for extra grip on the singletracks through the plantations - the corners can be a bit wet'ish / slippery on some of the downhill sections

Oh and for those that interested all but one of the river crossings on day 2 now have bridges. So no more slush after crossing.

Damm! So I don't have any excuse for pushing my bike by that stage?

Hi guys! also doing my first. never knew about the car shuttle service and just saw that it is now closed.

Sent them an email and awaiting a response. looking for a car shuttle substitution if anyone is not using theirs anymore and want to sell. As a backup..

I see that we have really bad weather on day 2... any tips?

Any advice from the vets?

Hi Friendly Bloggers!

I've got some last-minute travel re-arrangements, and is looking for a lift back to either the Garden Route or JHB (so I can catch a plane back to George). I'm doing the Adventure (ending on Friday), but can also return on Saturday. Can anyone help out perhaps?

Thanks

My two best long-range weather forecasting systems both predict really nice weather for next week. Just some light rain over the weekend, just to make sure it is not too dusty :)

But if day 2 turns out to be cold&wet, just take enough layers so you can keep warm, and eat and drink plenty.

I am looking for a lift from the finish to Jhb on Thursday or Friday - any got a spare seat - bike can come back with my partner who has to spend the weekend in Richards Bay, so I will only have a bag with me.

If you know someone who can help, please let me know soonest.

To all those that rode Joberg2c like myself a week ago, what training are you doing in this week towards the Sani2c?

Would love to know what others are doing as I am just resting at the moment, and planning maybe 2 short high intense rides on the weekend and that's about it.

COLD WEATHER PLAN

Looking at the chilly temps expected each morning, we're going to take a leaf from the book of some Comrades runners... Buy inexpensive sweatshirts/fleeces, wear them for the time between handing in our boxes and the start gun and then leave them at the start so they can be used by the community this winter.

We'll actually try to ask the Sani office to have a collection point at each start, if enough people like the idea, I'm sure S2C would do it.

It's a complete win-win. You stay warm without having to lug loads of gear on the ride and the community gets some much needed cold weather gear. Blankets would work too, or kit that's sitting unused in your cupboards.

Please like or reply if you like the idea so I can feedback to S2C.

Black plastic rubbish bag - cut out sleeves and neck - light enough to take with you and toss at the first bin at a waterpoint.
