Every time I see this photo I feel so inadequate...

Its reminds me of that one race Melandri won, came sliding around the last corner fist pumping....

That's the one!!

Also a massive talent that never really met expectations.

Yeah it's a shame, however I expect him and E-Lav to be pretty fast in WSBK this year on the mega-super-duper RSV4RRRRRSX-whatever-it's-called-now-edition.

Edit: Oh wait he's on the Panigale...

Edit 2: It will be nice to have Mrs. Melandri bouncing up and down the paddock again...

If by paddock you mean my lap, I agree 110%

Thats similar to the only reason I might miss Stoner occasionally ;)

I must admit, I used to be a massive SBK fan (Haga mostly) in the "good ol days", 916 vs 750 4s and that EXPENSIVE RVF.... but lost interest in the last few years. Rea and the likes just don't get me going....

Who are the guys too watch these days?

Don't forget your camera...

Well I think Chaz is going to give the Kawasaki boys a run for their money this year. And Laverty on the Works Aprilia should be pretty good too. We'll see if Honda managed to build a decent bike this year, which should bring Bradl and Hayden into the mix as well. Hopefully Yamaha recovers from their piss poor season and van der Mark can notch up some good results. I'm actually excited for SBK this year. Last year wasn't great, partly due to the 8 week summer break scheduling SNAFU.

Doesn't ride for 6 months, tops the timesheets and nobody says a thing.

Next story, Yamaha are the first ones to play their cards in the "the-wings-don't-make-a-difference-but-were-banned-for-safety-reasons-but-actually-now-our-bikes-are-crap-so-we-are spending-a-lot-of-money-to-bring-back-not-actually-but-actually-yes-no-they-are-wings-and-make-our-bikes-look-fat"-saga, with this:
