He to will grow old..................and realise that bones don't heal up as fast as they used to.

Oh, don't be so miserable! ANyway, with those skilz, by the time he's old he'll crash far less often and less heavily than a lot of the recent 40-something newcomers to the sport :)

pfffttt ..... lhow about some serious slope style action here please, ie Crankworx Whistler (check it out on Red Bull TV or cycletorrents)

hahaha! As much as I love that stuff... there are other threads for that.

the purpose of this thread is to share ways in which ourselves (or fellow riding buddies) find lines that turn our local green trails into black ones. ;)

For example, here is Mr Christmas-tree on a green trail (Rust Preventer) at the PWC bike park, and he has taken some simple rollers and decided to turn them into a 7m gap with a narrow landing, hard up into a berm.

My point being, that with some skill, and imagination, one can take what seem to be the easiest trails (like the Spruit for example) and turn them into something insane, purely by the way one rides them. (No trail modification needed)

GAP?

He turned it into a double, not a gap :whistling:

Stand easy, carry on

Emmarentia tree line is another one. You come out of the trail you bust a move over that little kicker followed by going back into the trees.

Inside that section you can link up different mound and kickers to create some nice jumps with some tight landings.

Crappy quality due to screen grab from video. And I am no Christmas Tree either.

Totally agree with you river rats here, you can make the spruit pretty freakin scary with some urban obstacles if you want to. Take that new jump(I am using the term jump very loosely here) at the jan smuts crossing as an example...why ride past the hole when you can jump it...not that I can

Did I hear you say lets build a road gap at Jan smuts? :whistling:

that same laaitie proceeded to jump and then land a manual on sunday, I stopped at the one little jump near emerentia and waited to see what he would do....it was insane

Must go check out the jump at Jan Smuts then :D

Crossing towards Fratellis at Jan Smuts you can do the drop from the pavement to the trail. Not too high.

Lots of ditches to hop all long the trail from Emmarentia to Fratellis also.

Well its not so much a jump than it is a trench...get it wrong, and eat you teeth. You need to be able to load and bunnyhop at speed to clear...a "pronk" will end up badly

I have no problems with bunnies. How wide is the trench?

Not that wide...maybe half a meter, but not a flat hop. So you have to bunny down which makes the trench actually double the length. It right next to the road....check it out

Thanks. I'll suit up!

That little bump gave me one of the hardest falls of my life. I drifted left towards those trees and yanked the front brake mid air. Eina. 9 months later my shoulder still aches!
