OK, here's my solution: HUB clinical trials

All the RLS sufferers, tonight, 18 Sept to 25 September is: sleep with mazambane (potato/potatoe) week. record your findings and submit to this thread by next Wednesday 25/9.

In the interim; please continue with the discussion, it's quite 'robust' and let's escalate the robustness by Friday?

Edit: Week 25/9 - 2/10 will be decided based on trials...during week 1 of CT.

If grammar and spelling mistakes in posts not checked for them are the only thing you can find wrong with my facts or reasoning, then yes, I plead guilty.

Do you have anything usefull to add besides not liking my attitude ?

Yes, I find keeping my feet and ankles cool helps a lot.

WRT peer review process- read all of my post- I mentioned a number of things that need to be included in any articles for them not just be an advert from a pharma company. There are books on how to make the process better, but regardless, if a new "cure" isn't even attempting to go down this route I am not interested.

WRT placebo effect- if the 'cure' had any proof of it working it would be published somewhere but with a lack thereof one has to ask the question why there is no proof.

I don't think anyone has so far said there is a specific substance as "cure" for RLS. Rather, many things that seems to work for different people. We don't know why that is. There is the underlying energy problem, but as to what magic "substances" will "cure" it for everyone, every time, at will or with a single pill, I don't think there will be any time soon. People are too different, and can have many different conditions that also play a role.

If you are a multi billion dollar pharmaceutical company with many lines of products, many of them which treats the symptoms of a specific disease, would you fund the research of a "cure", especially if the "cure" is something as simple and inexpensive as salt or aspirin ?

What was MY solution to RLS ?

Hi guys

Restless leggs, insomnia, low libido, regular nose bleeding and asthma are all related to over stressed cells, hormone imbalances and insufficient energy or broken metabolism

V12man says - Luckily I don't have leggs - but please detail your statement above...... in fact don't bother, your medical credibility is missing completely, and my sense of humour is feeling over-stressed (ie AWOL) - must be a hormone imbalance.... on the other hand it could just be a shortage of tolerance for uninformed and misguided opinions...

Now where is that Pexola rep with the long legs and blonde hair... she is at least interesting, and has a Phd in Microbiology too.... maybe she can help with my over-stressed cells...

F... it - I am going to go for a ride....

I don't have to do any such thing. I don't make claims for cures. I have provided the references. Go to Ray Peat.com and read his articles, educate yourself. Every single one of them is fully referenced. He has a Phd with 50 years of experience. And You ? You just have to start reading, ..which you obviously haven't. Maybe a bit less time riding bike and chasing blonde girls so you can maybe one day care for your patients better ?

LOL.... clearly you missed my obvious sarcasm - someone once told me you have to be smart to understand sarcasm...

25 years of keeping people alive... I think I am entitled to ride my bike whenever I want to - your opinion may vary, but I don't care.. and trust me on this - nobody else cares what you think.

I did actually read some Ray Peat's longwinded treatises on various subjects - most of them have at best some underpinning in other peoples work - none of them are my speciality, but I will say they probably won't stand up well in any authoritative peer reviewed journal, as there are FAR too many inferences between articles that probably do not exist,

My view - the man is a quack - and I am not alone in that opinion - and his articles are not worth reading.

You are an example of exactly the problem of what's wrong with the medical profession these days. Your sense of "entitlement" and being like "God" ... I am so happy I am not your patient... and hope I am never at the mercy of somebody like you . I wish you would show me one example of your peers that takes issue succesfully with Ray Peat's research on the basis of merit and facts.

I know for a fact that V12 man can actually save lives.

You on the other hand are giving your self off as a life saver by using the power of google.

Pretty simple for me to decide which on of you I would rather have if I end up in the E.R.

I dont suffer from RLS.

I am also glad you are not my patient - but probably not for the same reasons you are glad.... I would be more than happy if people never needed me - the world would indeed be a far better place.. lets hope you never need mine or a colleague's services.

As to whether or not the medical profession acts like god - well - that's another debate entirely. Not one I normally enter into publically.

And am I entitled - damn right - my life, my time, my money and my decision to go and ride - same entitlement you have - EXACTLY the same.

I am sure if you spend time searching this list you will find well qualified opinion on Ray Peat's literature reviews and opinions http://lmgtfy.com/?q=ray+peat+quack it's a long list.

Solal also brings out a herbal remedy called Burn-out, it is not cheap but I have been taking it(although I don't have RLS, I do have adrenal fatigue) and i think it works wonders.

I have met the guys who own Solal in SA and some other pseudo pharmaceutical brands.

In my opinion you are being ripped a new @sshole...
