Hi Guys

If any of you know of someone who is missing a Look 986 mountain bike, drop me a PM.

I saw it on the side of the road, did not want to get into an altercation with the guy as it was clear he had no idea of the value of the bike. I made him an offer and he said he will be meeting me on Thursday afternoon.

If it is yours and you can tell me more info about it, you can reimburse me and the bike will be yours again.

This is the kind of bike that must have come from a loving home. Someone must know the person who has lost this. In the morning I will contact the guys at the Wannabee's and the local cycle shops.

Ok, so made the call and he tried to get a better price and we moved to a small (very small) 4 figure number.

Sent a mail to the Wannabee's, also chatted to Chris Willemse Cycles and Cycle addiction, but they don't know anyone.

If you guys can please pass the word around, especially to the cycling clubs to see who might be the owner is, it would be great.

WHATS THE PLAN IF YOU SECURE A BUY AND NO ONE CLAIMS IT??

Will you set up a sting operation and get this guy sent to jail?

Maybe he borrowed his boss's Look and now sold it. :whistling:

I think he could ride it untill the real owner comes around, better riden by a nice bloke rather than been stripped and never seen again.

MAYBE JUST BORROWED IT and took it for a spin and put it back in the garage before the boss got home, and is NOW THINKING about selling it because SOMEONE(slowbee) OFFERED HIM CASH :whistling: :whistling: :whistling: :whistling:

Keep on trying to track the owner for a few months at least (will also try a few cycling clubs in JHB, PTA area). Failing which, get some legal advice on the next step.

Ideally, if no ones claims it, maybe do a hub auction and send the funds off to a charity.

Cheap Look. The gent is doing his best to locate the rightful owner. If that person does not make an appearence than OP gets himself a cheap Look for his good intentions.
