Rant. How much should an event T-shirt cost?

I didnt know the T-Shirt industry is regulated by the Government. Please report Diesel, CK and most designers to them, as they are trying to sell me t-shirt of R800 or more, even though they probably costs less to make than these ones. Let me know how it goes.

R285 for a T-shirt is a bit steep, but memorabilia items normaly cost more.

Just include it in the entry fee. It's a bit like school fees. Tell me to pay and I'll pay (I have no choice). Make something a voluntary levy and NO WAY (You just gave me a choice)!

Last time I cycled that event it was called the "Natal Mercury" and we got a free shirt with far better design - still have it 17 years later (wife never managed to toss it yet)
