pioneering euro marathon racing before it became so popular here......rode for Focus in Germany.......not sure if its Legend status, but thats his claim to fame.....

 

in fact when they had an exhibition world marathon champs a few years back, before the year they introduced the rainbow jersey for marathon, he was seeded no.1

Yeah, he dominated the local scene in the early 2000's. Vivid memory for me.
